United States Fleet Forces Command ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Naval Shipyard, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Process Controls Staff Branch, Code 220A, Process Controls Division, Code 220, Engineering and Planning Department (EPD) Code 200 of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will assist in the development of strategies to guide implementation process and organizational changes, assess the impact of changes, set goals, and act as a liaison between other engineering divisions and shipyard organizations. You will investigate, analyze, and make decisions on divisional organization improvements. You will develop and present meaningful departmental, divisional, and process driven metrics regarding EPD processes for assessment, benchmarking, and evaluation of progress and recovery plans as applicable. You will be responsible for matters regarding technical, administrative and quality engineering processes required for the division/department. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing practical knowledge of EPD disciplines (structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, combat systems, etc.) and practices to a full range of assigned duties. Experience coordinating engineering and planning projects with personnel from other engineering and planning codes to complete assigned projects. Experience preparing written documentation of inspection observation and analyzing adverse quality trends or conditions determine applicable corrective actions. Experience preparing written reports for management to provide program or project status. Experience assisting in the development of corrective actions for complex problems.
