Summary You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST (WEB SERVICES) in the Dudley Knox Library of NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL. Responsibilities You will oversee the continual evaluation of the Dudley Knox Library's web presence; facilitate and coordinate communication among library staff in the development of web-based content and services. You will coordinate the integration of new features and technologies in the library's web presence. You will develop and maintain library web-based information systems. You will assist in managing library technology resources, including hardware and software. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Designing automated and web-based systems in an academic environment; 2) Harvesting and translating data; and 3) Troubleshooting computer software and hardware. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using automated and web-based systems in an academic environment; 2) Troubleshooting computers and peripherals such as scanners and printers; and 3) Providing customer service and demonstrate ability to effectivity communicate both orally and written. Education For GS-11: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: A completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education OR Received a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree) directly related to the position OR have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Additional Information Daily work requires bending, stooping, reaching and climbing on ladders. Duties may involve some lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
