United States Fleet Forces Command SECURITY SPECIALIST in National Maritime Intelligence Center, Maryland
Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Navy Information Forces (NAVIFOR) NIMITZ Operational Intelligence Center responsible for providing the full spectrum of security guidance, services, and technical advice in a wide range of security functions. This position is located at NIMITZ OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER. Responsibilities You will provide guidance and decisions on the release and disclosure of classified and unclassified, but sensitive information to foreign officials. You will offer support to the Command in the coordination and preparation of national disclosure policy inputs and responses to inquiries and reports. You will perform security administrative duties provide support in the execution of Preliminary Inquiry Reports of security violations, processing Periodic Reviews (PRs), message traffic handling, e-QIP and JPAS/JCAVS database management. You will plan, review, and evaluate policies, regulations, and procedures in order to carry out all assignments necessary to implement security throughout the activity/field to meet Navy and national security programs requirements. You will Identify security gaps, specifies requirements to fill the gaps, and evaluates the data through security reviews and inspections. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1.) Analyze security data and advise customers and leadership on security and disclosure concepts, principles, methodology, and practices, as it pertains to the Command; 2.) Perform security administrative duties such as, providing support in the execution of personnel security requirements, physical security checks of the facility, Preliminary Inquiry Reports of security violations, processing Periodic Reviews, program read-ins and database tracking, message traffic handling and database management; AND 3.) Provide technical advice and assistance regarding the establishment of comprehensive security awareness programs.
