Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in assisting with recreation or sport facility management.

  • Teaching and providing clinics in tennis for a minimum of two years.

  • Minimum of two years experience assisting a Division I collegiate tennis program.

  • Master's degree required, preferably in Sport Management, Kinesiology, or related field.

  • Ability to work within the framework of Northwestern State University, the department of intercollegiate athletics, the Southland Conference, and the NCAA rules and regulations.

Job Concepts

  • Assists WRAC Director with maintenance and repair of all equipment, materials, and facilities.

  • Assists WRAC Director with retention records schedule.

  • Assists WRAC Director in the planning and implementing of risk management policies and procedures for indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.

  • Assists WRAC Director in reconciling all indoor and outdoor wellness and recreation physical inventory lists.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of campus recreational facilities while working with all areas of department to achieve established goals.

  • Assists WRAC Director in the deep cleaning/disinfecting of indoor and outdoor facilities as needed.

  • Assist WRAC director with WRAC student or patron disciplinary issues.

  • Assists in providing racquet sports programming for students. This includes planning, organizing, and implementing program activities.

  • Develops and implements policy and procedure for all areas of administration and operations of the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.

  • Directs all maintenance and repairs at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.

  • Schedules tennis facility usage times for increased demand by NSU students, faculty/staff, and the Natchitoches community.

  • Leads all aspects of a competitive Division I Women's Tennis program.

  • Oversees coordination of team travel ensuring timely and cost-effective arrangements.

  • Manages team budget, strategizes budgetary needs, develops, and recommends annual budget.

  • Coordinates, plans, and attends all practices and team matches.

  • Collaborates with strength & conditioning staff on team and individual training.

  • Schedules all tennis matches, tournaments, and tennis fund-raising events.

  • Monitors academic program of team's student-athletes, and counsels students on problems ranging from academic to social when needed.

  • Supervises a graduate assistant(s) in the sport of tennis.

  • Establish rapport with patrons, guests, staff members, and all involved in this position

  • Serves on university committees and attends designated events.

  • Teach a two-credit tennis activity class for the Health and Human Performance Department

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Director of Wellness and Recreation.
