Universal Health Services Part-Time CLINICAL THERAPIST in NASHVILLE, Tennessee

Responsibilities

Hermitage Hall (a UHS company) is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand-alone psychiatric residential treatment Hospitals. Licensed by Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a mental health residential treatment center for children and youth, Hermitage Hall has provided services to families for over 30 years.

We are currently looking for an Clinical Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals. This role requires a full background check including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Therapist will oversee the therapeutic services provided to a caseload of residents. This individual will act as the treatment plan coordinator for the multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of the master treatment plan and the discharge plan for each resident. They will provide individual, group and family therapy for assigned residents at Hermitage Hall as required by contractual and licensure obligations. They will also participate in subsequent treatment planning, risk management assessment and aftercare / discharge planning. They will actively communicate with staff, treatment teams, and outside agencies on treatment and safety issues pertaining to residents and their family members / caregivers / placement options.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates skill in counseling, interviewing, and assisting residents during individual sessions

  • Demonstrates group therapy skills

  • Demonstrates ability to engage families as evident by active participation and establishing mutual goals.

  • Does everything within the therapist’s control to be successful in discharging residents by projected discharge date.

  • Schedules and conducts individual therapy with each resident.

  • Plans and leads therapy group as scheduled by the program.

  • Conducts family therapy, as indicated in treatment planning and contract requirements, until resident is discharged from residential treatment.

  • Demonstrates understanding of human sexuality and sex offender dynamics, as well as skill in discussing sexual issues with residents without embarrassment.

  • Develops a therapeutic relationship (empathic, caring, supportive) with each resident while maintaining role as an appropriate authority figure.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    Minimum of a Master’s Degree in the social services field.

    Minimum of two years experience working with emotionally disturbed individuals preferred, and preferably in a residential juvenile sex offender setting.

    Knowledge and experience in individual, group and family therapy preferred.

    Knowledge of risk assessment, community reintegration, family therapy, family education and family needs assessment preferred.

    Experience in treatment planning preferred. Must have ability to communicate positively and effectively with residents, families, staff and outside agencies.

    Ability to work independently or as part of a team with regard to time management, timeliness, paperwork / documentation requirements and specific job duties.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Licensed, or license-eligible, by the State of Tennessee in the mental health field, such as LPC, LPE, LCSW, LMFT etc. and actively seeking licensure track.

    Must be at least 21 years of age.
