Hughston Orthopaedics Medical Group, LLC Front Office Harding Place Full Time in Nashville, Tennessee

Position Goal Assist physicians clinic through greeting, registering and directing patients. Perform a variety of administrative functions that ensure charges are collected, posted and charged as necessary. Position Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients.
  • Print appropriate patient paperwork and collect insurance cards if the patient didnt complete online paperwork through patient portal. [IM1]
  • Answer multi phone lines and return messages in a timely manner.
  • Schedule initial and return appointments with the correct appointment type.
  • Add notes to appointment to help keep providers informed.
  • Accurately enter the correct referring entity for each appointment.
  • Verify insurance benefits/eligibility and document in the computer system.
  • Verify/obtain referral numbers or authorizations for upcoming appointments.
  • Accurately enter/update patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Collect co-pays, patient balances, DME deposits and pre-payments.
  • Collect on balances in collections prior to scheduling appointments.
  • Post daily charges to patient accounts.
  • Review, enter, and edit daily bank deposits, charge data, and deposit report to ensure payments are posted accurately.
  • Track no show appointments.
  • Scan medical records, appointment requests, and referrals into EMR.
  • Print off physician schedules at the beginning of the day.
  • Send reports to physicians clinical staff.

  • Provide support or relief for other staff as needed.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
  • Reflect Hughstons values and is sensitive to Hughstons ethical and compliance principals in daily activities.
  • Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation independently.
  • Prioritize daily functions and tasks.
  • Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem-solving.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Medical Billing/Coding certification or six (6) months experience working in a medical office setting required.
