Job Summary and Qualifications

The position’s primary responsibility will be to work with business leaders and the development team to maintain the legacy financial systems. Support business owner needs related to implementing system enhancements or resolving system issues. Provide business knowledge and subject matter expertise on systems to business owners and team members. Work with other key project team members to define requirements and how to support those requirements, design the functional solution, identify and resolve project issues, and ensure the IT solution meets the requirements and the business need. This position will need to participate in and assist in driving the roadmap for the existing systems and assist the development team lead in overseeing/managing the development cycle of all enhancement, roadmap and issue resolution items.

Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:

Create deliverables independently and in conjunction with the business area.

Assist management in prioritization of tasks while managing multiple projects at a time across different applications and at different phases – analysis, implementation, support, etc.

Take ownership of responsibilities, working individually or with teams to accomplish tasks/goals. This includes driving tasks to completion, reporting status and escalating issues as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Function as the Subject Matter Expert of internally developed mainframe applications supported by Financial Development team (e.g. General Ledger, Funds Management, Budget & Projections Tool). Understand functionality of systems and interaction between systems to be able to represent these areas and systems in conversations and decisions with other system stakeholders. Evaluate proposed enhancements or issue resolutions for meeting business objectives, risks and cost/benefits. Work with the Business owner, development team and other team members where appropriate to design and develop new system features, ensure that the systems function properly, evaluate and propose opportunities for cost control, process improvement and ease of use. Research and assist in resolving user/system issues as necessary.

Manage the quarterly release slate by gathering business needs, working with business owners to generate requirements, working with development to obtain estimates, working with teams for upstream and downstream applications as needed for any potential coordination needed, recommending priorities, orchestrating approvals from key stakeholders and reporting progress through the cycle. Work with all stakeholders along the process to ensure coordination of and adherence to deadlines.

Facilitate progress on approved enhancement items by reviewing design approaches with development and refine requirements as needed, monitoring progress, assisting in developing and executing test plans. Reviewing test plans for application of requirements and overall business need and reviewing with business owner for sign off and post implementation validation.

Ensure that system documentation remains up to date and readily accessible by all stakeholders as changes occur. This may include requirements, technical specifications, security and access controls, functional usage and other documentation.

Assist in maintaining overall health of systems environment by participating in monitoring activities, assisting in issue resolutions and preventions, and providing input to discussions and activities that define the future of the applications.

College Graduate - Preferred

EXPERIENCE

7 or more years

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Financial Applications and understanding of accounting and process controls

Experience with the development/enhancement life cycle and requirements gathering.

Experience in project management / tracking and reporting progress of initiatives.

Strong leadership skills with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

Proven leadership ability with strong business analysis experience.

Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Some local travel may be required
