Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Cloud Data Principal Architect, you have a critical role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based data lake/warehouse solutions that meet business needs. This role is pivotal in driving the organization's data strategy, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure data systems. You will provide strategic oversight for the design, development, and implementation of data solutions and aligns with the organization's long-term goals.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, clients, and IT teams to build a comprehensive view of the organization’s strategy, processes, and information. This ensures that the data lake/warehouse solution supports an efficient and secure IT environment tailored to meet the organization’s needs. Recognized as an expert within the organization, the Cloud Data Principal Architect anticipates challenges, leads innovation, and solves complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. The role also involves extensive interaction and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. You will consult with leadership to provide recommendations and advice on technical directions, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of data architecture and cloud solutions. In addition to managing the technical aspects of cloud data architecture, this role emphasizes the development of Data as a Product (DaaP). You are responsible for creating data solutions that deliver actionable insights and business value. This involves ensuring all architectural designs, documentation, and development processes are in place and maintained to uphold data integrity and security.
Your responsibilities will include:
Collaborates across multiple organizations to deliver optimal data analytics and reporting capabilities to benefit and meet business requirements.
Provides architectural oversight for final solution/product outcome.
Collaborates with data source owners to determine the best method and requirement for integration/extraction to support the solution.
Maintains detailed knowledge of the architecture which supports more than one core business area and data sources.
Participates in the overall planning and design of the data lake / warehouse solution.
Trains and educates others in the structure and components of the solution
Demonstrates knowledge of how the core business applications and support systems are structured and what protocols and interfaces are used for communications.
Predicts performance based on the available options and environments, including the ability to synthesize local and regional data requirements into a specific data warehouse application.
Demonstrates mastery of data analysis in practical application. Able to design a logical data model or object model of simple to moderate complexity. Identifies redundant data objects and data items that can be re-used across applications. Identifies data transformation requirements. Can identify data gaps and recommend appropriate changes.
Provides expertise and leadership in data warehouse and data source integration design to meet business requirements.
Designs and develops technical solutions, including integrations with external systems both on premise / private cloud and the public cloud
Understands the industry trends and direction for both data warehouse and data lake solutions
Maintains overall architecture and best practices/standards for managing and maintaining the data warehouse solution.
Educates uses best practice methodologies, process, and toolsets defined within the architecture
Interacts with other technology leaders and business owners across the company to determine optimal data elements, platforms, and metrics for both operations and strategies. Outside relationships include vendors of data processing products, community peers, professional organizations, contract employees, co-ops, external auditors, and consultants. Close consultation with HCA management to provide recommendations and/or advice on technical directions will be required.
Develop and maintain the cloud data architecture framework
Design and implement cloud-native data models, schemas, and storage solutions to meet business needs.
Ensure cloud data architecture aligns with the organization's business goals and cloud strategy
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in the cloud environment
Establish and enforce cloud data governance policies and standards
Foster the development of data products that deliver actionable insights and value across the organization
Ensure data products are designed to meet user needs, are easily accessible, and provide reliable information.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize data product requirements and features.
Implement data stewardship practices to maintain data accuracy and reliability in the cloud.
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelors Degree is required
Master's Degree is preferred
7+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, and database design is required
Knowledge of big data cloud technologies (ie. GCP) is preferred
Google Professional Cloud Architect is preferred
