Project Overview:
Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and datacenter markets. M&T strives to exceed our customer objectives through utilizing our agility, innovative technologies, and world class talent. M&T solves the industry's toughest challenges, building both our company and the world for the future. Our team is building on Bechtel's legacy with a prospective semiconductor project. Pending award, Bechtel will serve as the Owner Representative for this confidential client located in New York.
Job Summary:
Supplier Diversity Managers are responsible for providing guidance to the Project's supplier outreach programs, regularly meet with the business community and communicate how to effectively engage with Bechtel. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager is also responsible for maintaining status of and regularly reporting on the Project's Supplier Diversity initiative activities and utilization of diverse businesses. #LI-MJ1
Major Responsibilities:
The Supplier Diversity Manger supports the Project Supply Chain organization by:
Reviewing and modifying the supplier diversity program on a project basis to ensure diverse suppliers are used on Bechtel’s projects.
Maintaining a database of Small, Minority/Woman/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (SMWDBE) suppliers and subcontractors easily accessible Supply Chain personnel.
Assisting in the screening and pre-qualification of bidders with respect to SMWDBE utilization.
Supporting activities with SMWDBE trade associations and business development organizations.
Supporting the procurement & contracts group with contractors and suppliers and assist them with becoming familiar with the requirements for doing business on the project SMWDBE being pursued.
Providing semi-annual and annual updates and/or overall program status (Metrics) to Corporate and GBU senior management.
Interfacing with SMWDBE organizations representing the SMWDBE community.
Ensuring through training workshops and communication with project personnel to ensure they are aware of the Small Business Program and the status of achievement against its contractual small business goals
Seeking out and meeting with companies to find qualified suppliers to expand the enterprise’s supplier database
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent years of experience and a minimum of 3 years' experience in supplier diversity or small business advocacy
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to coordinate with diverse business organizations, economic development organizations at the local, state and national levels.
Ability to implement Supplier Advocacy Plans
Experience in growing a diverse and inclusive global supply chain
Knowledge of and previous experience working with the industry-recognized certification agencies
Understanding of the procurement lifecycle
Skilled in working with and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with project personnel, suppliers, and the local, regional and national supply chain.
Knowledge of the EPC industry is preferred
