Project Overview:

Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) is seeking individuals to fill key project functional management roles supporting a number of prospects within the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and data center business lines. Potential prospects provide an opportunity to engage in fast-paced, complex, and innovative project delivery to support industry growth for the long-term.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team as a Project Manager to develop goals, milestones, priorities, metrics, and execution plans. Your team will monitor customer feedback, compliance, and project performance, ensuring that safety and sustainability goals are integrated. Your innovative recommendations for high quality work will help ensure customer satisfaction and will support new business development. #LI-MJ1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of assigned projects or functional areas​

  • Responsible for the planning, staffing, control, and management of assigned projects or functional areas

  • Serves in a consulting and advisory role as requested on department and/or special projects​

  • Provides counsel, guidance, and assistance in the areas of specialty​

  • Develops and implements strategies meant to assist the business in meeting goals and objectives in the most efficient manner possible

  • Sets and manages project/workstream expectations.​

  • Ensures work is completed on time and within established quality standards and provides reports to internal and external clients and/or project/functional sponsors

  • Evaluates and recommends changes to policies or procedures

  • Serves as a liaison between project teams, external clients, or other functional areas of the organization

  • May lead the work of functional area in absence of senior group manager

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Level 1 Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience

  • Level 2 - Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 18+ years of relevant experience or 22+ years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to partner with other group and senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives​to support the project and the overall business line

  • Ability to make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure operations achieve objectives effectively​

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing role or similar with frequent external communications

  • Knowledge of industry, technology and EPC work processes, including knowledge of customs, culture and business practices of Region/Country where project is located. Knowledge and understanding of working arrangements with joint ventures, alliances and consortiums, and customer representative execution structures. Experience with lump sum and reimbursable projects. Experience in manufacturing and technology (semiconductors, data centers, electric vehicle) preferred.

  • Knowledge of front-end activities including:

  • Best practices / lessons learned

  • Constructability

  • Risk Analysis / Contingency Evaluation

  • Estimate / Proposal Review Process

  • Business and Commercial awareness including:

  • Cash flow management

  • Currency management and hedging strategies

  • Conserving the use of Bechtel capital

  • Knowledge and experience in baseline development and implementation including:

  • Scope definition

  • Roles and Responsibilities

  • Estimates and resource loaded schedules

  • Progress and performance curves and metrics

  • Reports and action items tracking

  • Knowledge of cross functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially Project Controls, Supply Chain management, Quality management and the ability to manage the relationships/interfaces with management and functional groups.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel standard tools, techniques and procedures preferred
