Intermountain Health Chief Analytics Officer - Select Health in Murray, Utah
Job Description:
CAO defines and implements analytic strategy in alignment with broader SelectHealth strategies and in coordination with other members of the Executive Leadership Team.
The CAO develops and implements a roadmap, which ensures that analytic capacity and capabilities exist to drive successful business service and medical expense management.
This position oversees the project prioritization, reporting and execution of analytics initiatives across the SelectHealth organization and employer clients.
The CAO also implements organizational structures to support the execution of analytics in collaboration with Intermountain.
The Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) defines and implements data and analytic strategy in alignment with broader Select Health strategies and in coordination with other members of the Senior Leadership Team.
This role involves leveraging data to develop and drive insights to improve identified business outcomes, medical expense management and spearhead innovative economic strategies. The CAO oversees the project prioritization, reporting and execution of analytics initiatives across the Select Health organization and employer clients. Additionally, the CAO implements organizational structures to support the execution of analytics in collaboration with Intermountain Health.
Essential Functions
Administrative lead for data and information management professionals, technical professionals, and other specialists, including actuaries, business intelligence developers, data analysts, data managers, and data scientists.
Works with COO and Select Health’s SLT to define vision and strategy, leveraging analytics as a competitive advantage for Select Health.
Ensures that analytics resources are first deployed on projects of greatest strategic value to the organization.
Accountable for service level agreement performance with Intermountain Health, Select Health, and other organizations as appropriate.
Implements policies and standards to ensure compliant use and distribution of data.
Establishes a high-performance, high-engagement culture, which celebrates and encourages belonging and inclusion.
Oversees development of analytics products in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Regularly measures the value and ROI of analytics initiatives.
Drives development and adoption of self-service analytics tools for Select Health team members and clients.
Identifies emerging practices and technologies to increase the value of analytic output.
Promotes data-driven decision making and a data savvy culture throughout the organization.
Provides oversight of all Medical Economics work, which is aimed at identifying and managing medical and pharmacy cost drivers and supporting a unique and differentiating member (and aligned provider) experience.
Collaborates with Select Health’s leadership, finance, sales, actuarial and medical management in the planning process.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics computer science, information management, or related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Ten years recent experience in analytics management, financial or information or IT management, experience working with executives.
Five years experience in a complex and diversified health care/health insurance company in progressively responsible management roles to include three years of Medical Economics experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance and standards.
Familiarity with advanced data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
Project management

SQL, Tableau, Microstrategy, Microsoft Office
Knowledge of healthcare actuarial principles
Understanding of value-based healthcare
Additional Information
This position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah and requires regular in-office time. Some business travel may be required to be successful in the role.
This is an exempt, full-time position with a compensation range of $258,000 - $291,000 annually and as determined by prior years of relevant experience. In addition to the annual salary, to show our commitment to you and assist with your transition into our organization, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable. With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$87.84 - $135.58
