Azure Core Solutions and Ecosystems (AS&E) teams enterprises deploy their mission critical workloads such as SAP, Oracle, Epic, and VMware on dedicated infrastructure services managed by Azure. Within AS&E, the Azure Core Customer Solutions and Incubations team, works with industry leaders to solve problems and unblock industries, enabling them to capitalize on new digital business models. The Azure Core Customer Solutions and Incubations teams is seeking to build and execute a strategy to accelerate the deployment of Epic on Azure systems. Epic on Azure is growing at an unprecedented scale across several industries, this is an exciting time for an industry that is undergoing a massive shift. Microsoft will lead the efforts to assist both governments and industry to rapidly transform customers and ISV’s businesses.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager in the Azure Core Customer Solutions and Incubations Engineering team, the individual will possess a "can do" attitude, a passion for solving hard problems, and a commitment to help build the best hyperscale cloud business on the planet. The team's mission is to accelerate the deployment of Epic environments from on-prem or hybrid to the Microsfot Azure Clouds across the Healthcare industry. This opportunity will allow you to develop deep business acumen, hone your product craft and leadership skills.

This candidate will have experience working with customers in the migration or deployment of large-scale Epic cloud infrastructure projects and a depth background in Epic technical architecture and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advisory to customers and partners in relation to planning, architecting and systematically deploying large scale Epic customer estates onto Microsoft Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service.

  • Support the development of customer/partner program plans to define the phases, steps, roles and moments of truth in the customer journey for Epic on Azure migration programs and greenfield Epic deployments.

  • Drive rapid customer success by executing the Epic on Azure program plan, provide technical advisory, guidance and technical governance for successfully running optimized workloads on Azure.

  • Provide technical best practices to help the partner/customer to predictably migrate to Microsoft Azure while avoiding pitfalls and common mistakes

  • Creating and maintaining internal and external product documentation and related artifacts to help drive customer adoption.  

  • Co-engineering initiatives with core Product and Engineering teams spanning Epic Deployment Automation, Epic on Azure Monitoring and Epic on Azure Quality.

  • Developing and maintaining a long-term program roadmap in collaboration with technical subject matter experts, mitigating risks including technology shifts, industry or market constraints, and cost/pricing challenges​. 

  • Spearhead customer-led innovation by becoming design partners to Product Management and Engineering teams, and, offering platform feedback into the Product teams to ensure Azure is optimized for Epic workloads, making Azure the best cloud to run Epic workloads.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 3+ Years of Customer facing Consulting/Advisory experience.

  • 4+ years experience directly involved with technical implementation of complex/mission critical production systems in the Cloud.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Technical strength in cloud computing – Compute, Storage, & Networking.

  • Experience with Automation (Terraform, Ansible) is a bonus

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
