Security Copilot empowers defenders to detect hidden patterns, harden defenses, and respond to incidents faster with generative AI. While Generative AI has created a new set of possibilities, it’s also created a new set of challenges: hallucination, prompt injection, industry trends change weekly. Our team is at the forefront of both the opportunities and the challenges for Microsoft Security. We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager for Security Copilot to help us tackle our complex intersection of a new, fast-moving domain, web of internal and external stakeholders and dependencies, and critical need for a high-quality, secure product. You will make it better to work a Security Copilot Engineer or Product Manager, identify opportunities and gaps in our product and features, delight our internal and external customers, navigate the complexities of a security platform, and build a rapidly-scaling new business for Microsoft that makes the entire world safer. Responsibilities
• Project Management: Drive the successful execution of technical programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and product management, to align strategies and objectives.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
• Performance Metrics: Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness and efficiency of TPM initiatives.
• COGS Management: Oversee the analysis, reporting, and optimization of COGS to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Cloud Capacity Planning: Manage cloud resource allocation and capacity planning to support the organization's growth and performance objectives efficiently.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices, applying them to enhance the organization's TPM processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
OR equivalent experience.
Ability to demonstrate technical acumen, understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
OR equivalent experience.
10+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Ability to think strategically, plan, and drive consensus across team, leadership, and even organizational boundaries and to deliver on those outcomes
Experience influencing both technical and executive leadership and stakeholders, storytelling to any audience or customer.
Experience working with a team that is rapidly growing, launching, and operating a new product in an emerging technology or as a cloud service
Experience working on a platform team, where the product is both customer-facing and exposes significant API to both first- and third-party developers
Experience working in business and operational roles and managing programs that involve complex budgeting, revenue projection, or margin analysis.
Experience working in the Security and/or Generative AI technology domains.
Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
