BWXT is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our growing team in Mount Vernon, Indiana! The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, and expediting the flow of production parts, tooling and materials necessary to meet scheduled delivery requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review workflow schedules to determine priorities and regulate and coordinate material-flow, by leading production priority meetings, making adjustments to Ready-to-Work Dashboard, addressing/communicating resource needs, changing work orders, etc., to meet delivery requirements.

  • Review manufacturing plans daily: Verify operations are signed complete, check for Quality Notifications (QN) and/or Stop Notices, and verify/expedite the clearing of QN/Stop Notices for production to resume through communication with responsible departments and by escalating issues or challenges to Senior Management as appropriate.

  • Verify/Expedite parts/material readiness prior to need dates/start dates; goods issue components, load and maintain operations dashboard.

  • Work collaboratively with Operations management and supervision to ensure availability of appropriate Operations personnel to prepare parts, material, tooling, fixtures, etc. are staged for use when required.

  • Use Planning/Scheduling software (MS Project, Ready-to-Work Dashboard, SAP), tools and processes to support efficient and effective flow of fabrication to meet scheduled delivery commitments.

  • Work collaboratively with Planner/Schedulers to align component machining/fabrication capacity against level loaded schedule to ensure sufficient resource capacity to coordinate the development of outsourcing strategies as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with Key Value Stream Stakeholders to develop component manufacturing recovery strategies, provide communication updates and update stakeholders accordingly.

  • Communicate material-flow, in-process schedules and completion status updates to key value stream stakeholders.

  • Evaluate and determine the most efficient and cost-effective machine/fabrication scheduling and communicate with stakeholders for concurrence.

  • Ensure manufacturing plans are delivered to the shop as scheduled.

  • Pull completed operations for partial upgrades and obtain manufacturing plans for final upgrade.

  • Performing analyses to identify issues, determine solutions, generate/execute action plans, and validate results to ensure solution achievement.

Job Qualifications:

  • Associates' degree in a related technical field is required with eight years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Functional knowledge of Scheduling theory/concepts and experience scheduling for manufacturing/production/operations.

  • Experience in coordinating manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to provide informal guidance and support to team members and coordinate work of others.

  • US citizenship with no dual citizenship is required.

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
