Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in software development.

  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.

  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

  • Experience in working on engineering productivity for Android devices and platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.

  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

  • 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The XR DevX Infra team is developing systems, tools and processes to build, test and release Android XR platforms and products. We support developers, partners and stakeholders to deliver on a regular cadence, with maximum velocity and trust.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Analyze existing development processes to identify pain points and areas for improvement. This might involve optimizing code review processes, improving testing strategies, or implementing better collaboration tools.

  • Work with different engineering teams to understand their specific needs and tests. This ensures that the tools and processes developed are tailored to the organization's specific requirements.

  • Research and introduce new tools and technologies that can improve developer productivity (e.g., stay up-to-date with industry trends and advocate for changes within the organization).

  • Develop and maintain tools and infrastructure from automating builds and deployments to creating internal tools for tracking bugs or managing code.

  • Establish metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to developer productivity. Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and the impact of any changes made.
