Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of coding experience in Python.

  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

  • 3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g. TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, or natural language processing.

  • Experience with Large Language Models, NLP, or Generative AI.

  • Experience with data analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

  • Experience with LLMs in prompting and practical applications.

Photos Reminiscing team's mission is to help showcase your life story, so you can explore and enjoy the moments that shaped you. The Reminiscing Signals team builds out the ML quality to support Photos AI features. We use Multimodal LLMs, classical machine learning, and increasingly -- LLM-assisted workflows for classical machine learning.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Train ML models, tune LLMs, and build heuristics for signals to power Photos Reminiscing features. Size impact and evaluate signals.

  • Get signals in front of the team quickly. Build out demos for collecting engineering and product team feedback and iterating on it.

  • Collect or create the data you need to train your models. Build out campaigns or teacher models to label data as needed.

  • Build out pipelines and other infra for large-scale evaluation in support of the signals you are developing.

  • Launch the models and hook up the feature integration.
