Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager in Mountain View, California

The AI Frameworks team is hiring a Senior Product Manager to help customers ride the Generative AI wave. Our team is responsible for building the software stack for the Maia AI accelerators. This role will work with teams across Microsoft and with external partners that are building leading edge LLMs and generative AI models. You will leverage your passion for the developer experience and design tools and APIs for making AI developers more efficient at developing, debugging, and optimizing their models on Maia accelerators. This is the perfect role for Senior Project Manager who are technically proficient and hands-on, empathize with AI developers, and enjoy developing tools and APIs at the intersection of AI and silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement – Deeply engage with customers, and partners, to deep understand their workflows and scenarios. You will be responsible for gathering and clearly defining customer requirements and formalizing delivery priorities.

  • Demonstrate good judgement and earn customer trust. You will need to drive for clarity and alignment with stakeholders using written narratives that bring together customer feedback, industry trends, and metrics.

  • Execution – Drive product development in this rapidly moving space to make sure we land the right solution in the right timeframe. You will work with engineers to prioritize roadmap, define and deliver features. Unblock the team with innovative and valuable solutions to make progress. Own rhythm of business and alignment for your area and establish operational excellence at scale. Lastly, you will ensure Responsible AI considerations are addressed from the start.

  • Communication & Leadership – Represent your team in internal forums, executive reviews, and externally at developer events, in blogs, and on social media.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in deep learning, machine learning and/or AI.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and with ambiguity.

  • Ability to work well with and articulate ideas to people: customers, engineers, executives.

  • Familiarity with fundamentals of deep learning and AI

  • Hands-on use of development tools for AI models

  • Knowledge of deep learning optimization and acceleration techniques.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
