This role will evaluate and certify eligibility for financial aid programs while ensuring compliance with all federal, state & institutional policies and regulations. This position will collaborate regularly with campus and University of Minnesota system partners. This job must demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 70% Financial Aid Program Management Manage complex financial aid programs and related services. Financial aid programs may include but are not limited to the American Indian Tuition Waiver, scholarships, veterans, and student employment. Serves as functional expert for program eligibility and in-depth program specific issues. Provide start-to-finish student service using professional judgment and individual discretion in both simple and complex issues involving minimal supervisory guidance. Interprets and implements financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations. Identifies and resolves issues independently. Establishes procedures and best practices to ensure the integrity of student financial aid programs and compliance with University, state, federal, and outside agency financial aid rules and regulations. Leads projects to analyze and review program processes and improvement opportunities. 20% Financial Aid Program Support Collaborate with financial aid staff and other student offices and programs to resolve student issues and concerns. Maximize student financial aid opportunities to succeed and excel at Morris. Act as a resource about specific financial aid programs to other campus departments, and outside agencies. Serve as a resource on financial aid initiatives. 10% Committees and other duties as assigned Serves on committees and participates in professional organizations. Attend all mandatory training/conferences required for the position. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS plus at least 4 years of related experience. Orientation to detail, and the ability to handle high volume processing and adapt to changing priorities. Strong interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills as it pertains to customer service within and outside of the University. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a high volume workload; adapt to multiple tasks and changing priorities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of University, state and federal financial aid regulations and familiarity with University of Minnesota policies and procedures. Understanding and experience with PeopleSoft Student Financial processing and the Federal Needs Analysis formula.
