Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Data Engineer - Analytics Platforms.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

Job summary

As a Data Engineer, you will lead the development, build, and test scenarios for data solutions to deliver business value while meeting quality & technical requirements. You will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of source data acquisition, complex transformation and orchestration pipelines, and AI/ML engineering. In addition, you will collaborate directly with business stakeholders to deliver rapid, incremental business value/outcomes. This role requires extensive experience in front-end visualization using Power BI (desktop and online service),

You will work with the latest cloud data engineering tools and frameworks, such as Snowflake, to build and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and architectures. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, ES EMEA, ES APAC, EHS) to understand their data needs and provide them with data insights and guidance.

Key roles and responsibilities for this position are:

  • Deploy complex enterprise solutions to a wide range of data technology patterns and platforms

  • Design, Engineer and orchestrate datasets with scale, supportability and reusability at the forefront of design

  • Build infrastructure and data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of sources

  • Ensure data end-to-end data flow quality, accuracy, and consistency by implementing data validation, testing, and monitoring processes

  • Build and maintain standard work, design standard operating procedures and leverage ServiceNow to troubleshoot and resolve data issues and provide technical support to the team and other users

  • Demonstrate and document solutions by using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, data lineage, and technical and business metadata

  • Partner with senior business stakeholders, functional analysts, and data scientists to ensure solutions meet or exceed requirements

  • Provide data insights and recommendations to support business decisions and strategies

  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional requirements and enterprise technology and data protection standards

  • Drive and teach data literacy and data culture across the organization by sharing data knowledge and skills

  • Support continuous learning for our Power BI self-service community through office hours and learning events

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum seven (7) years in IT, project management, program management or data related activities including architecture, engineering, operational/transactional efforts or overall analytics

• Minimum three (3) years of Power BI experience

• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Moon Township PA or Beachwood OH to be considered.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced data visualization experience with Power BI to create interactive analytics solutions, support questions from self-service user community, and provide high-level training to self-service user community

• Advanced experience with one or more data storage and processing technologies (data lake, warehouse, timeseries, graph)

• Intermediate ability to interact with batch (ETL/ELT) and on-demand (API, SQL) data integration methodologies

• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data storage (object, database) and processing (Spark, MPP warehouse, containers) technologies

• Experience with dimensional (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) and transactional (3rd normal form) data modeling using OLTP, OLAP, NoSQL and Big Data technologies

• Advanced programming ability in multiple data manipulation languages (Python, Scala, SQL, PL-SQL)

• Advanced experience developing and supporting data pipelines, inclusive of code, orchestration, quality and observability

• Intermediate experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD principles and tools
