Role and Responsibilities

Civil Strategy & Performance Lead

The Civil Performance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the Civil organization attains its annual performance objectives. This role prepares, optimizes, and tracks monthly business metrics, prepares executive notes for CEO meetings, and monitors CAPEX spending across Civil. The role works closely with leadership from all businesses within the Civil organization to ensure a uniform, consistent performance management process is adhered to and that performance metrics are met. The role has a global view of progress towards delivering value for the business and strives to continuously increase that value.

Civil Performance Management

  • Support the key bi-monthly Civil Executive Management Committee governance report. This includes the preparation of the report and presentation to the Civil BU President which in-turn will be presented to the CAE Executive Management Committee (EMC).

  • Support in the production of the Monthly Business Review report. This includes various financial and business analyses, analysis of key performance indicators, consolidation of inputs from various business partners, and presentation of the report to upper Civil management.

  • Support key quarterly governance reporting activities including the Civil Board of Directors report, and the Civil section of the Management Discussion & Analysis report.

  • Support various ad-hoc analyses and requests for Civil President

Civil Capital Investment Performance, Planning & Management

  • Participate in the annual capital investment budget and 5-year capex strategic planning process.

  • Proactively find ways to support the capital requirements of the business while maintaining the capex budget. This includes identifying risks, providing forecast recommendations and plans of action to management.

  • Key business partner to global investment spending groups including business unit and regional leaders, business development, finance, project management office and manufacturing. Support and build relationships with these groups to assess risks and opportunities to the capex budget/forecast.

  • Support and continuously improve key CAPEX governance processes with the intent of maximizing return on capital employed (ROCE)

  • Track performance of intangible spending (monitor KPIs/ progress towards objectives & budgets and financial risks)

  • Key business partner to intangibles investment spending groups including technology groups, finance, project sponsors. Support and build relationships with these groups to assess risks and opportunities to the capex budget/forecast and drive accountability in projects ROI

  • Monitor ROI for delivered intangible investments against original business cases (including timing of ROI). Report to Civil business leaders the results of this activity.

  • Focal for Civil on depreciation schedule

Strategic Analysis

  • Analyze large data sets and translate into key insights/trends to help with leadership decision making
