The Graphic Designer primarily provides support with photography, imagery, videography, catalog, web and digital ad design, packaging, and sales collateral creation. The Graphic Designer will  ensure that all photos, videos, and images are edited to be consistent with Pocket Nurse brand standards. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to complete tasks on time and error-free. A faster-than-average pace in a stable work environment allows this position to plan for, focus on and complete tasks on hand.

Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:

  • Takes photographs and videos of products and edits them per specifications to deliver high quality images for both print and digital media.  Pictures and videos must convey the proper message to the audience and create an engaging and informative storyline. 
  • Edits existing images to constantly improve image quality using various editing methods.
  • Properly uses and maintains modern and traditional equipment (lighting, cameras, lenses etc.).
  • Arranges objects, scenes, lighting, and background to adhere to quality specifications.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures.
  • Creates, maintains, and archives a product image database to ensure alignment with brand standards for catalog, web, and print media use.
  • Develops and produces creative designs across multiple channels including catalogs, sales collateral, corporate marketing materials, packaging, tradeshow booth and collateral, and digital media design.
  • Studies creative briefs, determines requirements, and translates those ideas into design.
  • Presents multiple, innovative concepts with justification for the design.
  • Solicits design feedback from stakeholders and edits proofs to create final artwork.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to produce high quality, influential tools to drive business growth.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all records including but not limited to, products, demographic information, website information, graphic designs, and proofs; as this information is the sole property of Pocket Nurse, not to be distributed, sold, or used as a bargaining mechanism with any or all other companies.

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education:

  • Minimum of Associate's degree in Graphic Arts and 3+ years of photography and design experience at an organization with an in-house creative team or at an advertising agency.

Skills and Experience:

  • Photography experience required, product photography specific experience a plus.
  • Videography experience a plus but not required. 
  • Working knowledge of how to position products and arrange lighting to achieve the highest quality images for various media. 
  • Ability to edit and color correct images with proven experience in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Illustrator, in addition to other design tools to develop assets for various mediums.
  • Experience with a variety of media including digital and print catalogs and/or multi-page publications a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel a plus.
  • Keen eye for aesthetics, features, bran ing, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks with changing business priorities and deadlines.
  • Passion for design and creative thinking, desire for learning, and drive for continuous growth.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong and effective internal cross-functional relationships.
  • Collaborative design experience with demonstrated ability to translate internal clients needs into compelling high-quality output.
