Job Description

AECOM GTA is currently seeking a Railway Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance Team in Ontario to work with multidisciplinary teams delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects.

The candidate will support the Systems Manager on tasks related to site inspections and supervision., performing verification and validation checks, reviewing the hazard log, assist in requirements management tasks, assisting with quality related matters, and interfacing with the Contractor, Operator and other stakeholders on railway technical matters.

Essential Criteria:

  • Prior experience working on Railway projects in Canada

  • Familiar with the System Engineering framework as it relates to Requirements Management

  • Experience working with Requirement Management tools such as DOORS NG or ComplyPro.

  • Good communications skills and the ability to work in a diverse technical environment

  • General knowledge of Railway systems (signaling, telecom, SCADA, Rolling Stock, Traction Power, etc)

Responsibilities include:

  • Review Verification and Validation evidence against requirements and specifications.

  • Review derived requirements, including safety and security requirements.

  • Perform requirements analysis and identify gaps, redundancies, contradictions.

  • Prepare periodic reports on the progress of V&V activities.

  • Prepare weekly or monthly status and engineering reports to Customer.

  • Work with the Independent Safety Assessors to lift observations and demonstrate safety.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering + 6 years experience performing Systems Engineering activities on Railway projects.

  • Driver's License

  • Willing to attend site minimum 3 days per week or as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years overall experience

  • Peng certified

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $160,000.00.
