Summary About the position: This position is located at the Walmsley Bowling Center, 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB Japan. This is a Flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility. Responsibilities Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or management in the operations or maintenance of the bowling center. Assign lanes (open and league), rent shoes and lockers to patrons, sells merchandise from pro shop, operates cash register, rings up sales, receives money and makes change; sets up for special events, activities, or parties; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries; takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment; assists in maintaining the inside and outside of the facility in a clean and neat manner; helps with group activities which require more than one staff member. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: This is an entry level position. Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures is desirable. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable. No previous experience needed to qualify, however, an applicant's resume and/or interview must indicate he/she has the ability to perform the work assigned. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
