Steven C. Thal P.A. Immigration Specialist Eastern Europe Case Management in Minnetonka, Minnesota
Provide support to licensed attorneys, draft trial and appellate briefs, research immigration law issues, write legal memoranda about Eastern European Law, and gather foreign legal documents and records from Ukrainian and Russian speaking countries. Specific duties include: Engage in short and broad research projects of Eastern European countries country conditions, writing office reports and other interoffice documents about Civil Law Eastern European legal systems. These projects will include review of Ukrainian language criminal foreign statutes and records as well as research into inter-country adoption law, marriage and divorce statutes, and other related legal issues in Eastern European countries that intersect with immigration law cases. Work directly with attorneys to manage case load from the intake through processing, filing and adjudication. Work under a licensed attorney to prepare family-based, humanitarian, and employment-based immigration filings, including drafting of detailed affidavits, legal analysis, country conditions analysis, and descriptions of international corporate structures and how they fall within U.S. immigration laws, among other pertinent legally and factually related topics. Perform legal research to obtain information and analyze the background of a company or industry, current wages, procedural strategic questions, etc. This duty involves utilizing research into Eastern European legal systems in order to assist our clients in obtaining strategically helpful and necessary biographic, legal and financial records as part of their immigration case. Speak with clients in both Ukrainian and English and draft supporting letters, personal statements, and immigration forms, including the description and disclosure of clients criminal and family history. Analyze foreign corporate clients and certificates for qualification for investor status and for corporate transfers from Eastern European countries to the United States. Obtain appropriate corporate documents and filings from Eastern European countries for employment-based petitions and applications.
