Description We are hiring for a Senior Accountant role in the education industry, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The selected candidate will be an integral part of our finance team, focusing primarily on traditional accounting functions rather than grant accounting. This role will report directly to the Controller and will be a part of our on-site team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all account reconciliations including bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Manage the general ledger and ensure it is maintained accurately.

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting tasks.

• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

• Execute financial analysis and forecasting.

• Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting systems and policies.

• Collaborate with the Controller to improve financial procedures.

• Maintain a strong understanding of organizational financial policies and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required.

• Experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries is essential.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.

• Applicant should have experience in Month End Close processes.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

• The candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards is a plus.

• Experience in the education industry is preferred but not mandatory.

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly is required.

• CPA certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with financial software is preferred.

• Excellent analytical and time management skills are needed.
