EssentialEmployees are expected to report to campus during a University State of Emergency (reduced operations or campus closure) unless specifically directed by the Department not to report or if directed by civil emergency or medical authorities not to report for health and safety reasons. As an EssentialEmployee, you must report to campus even if the closure is less than 3 days. Responsibilities: 80%. Conduct, oversee, and analyze data from multiple experiments Generation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and T cells from induced pluripotent stem cells Assess phenotype and functionality of generated T cells using FACS analysis Genome editing of induced pluripotent stem cells Culture and maintained of iPSC cell banks Coordinates and plans differentiations experiments Generation of Chimeric Antigen receptor T cells Management of experimental animals and injection and harvest of tissues from animal models Conduct in vitro and in vivo killing assays to assess CAR-T and T cell function Teaches and supervises differentiation techniques. Analyze and synthesize data from experiments for protocol optimization Accurately records experiments and results Routine lab maintenance 20%. Lab management and maintenance, including waste removal, supply inventory, inventory, as well as other day-to-day laboratory cleanliness activities Work Location: In Person - 480 MCRB Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS with major in biological science plus one year of experience, or equivalent combination education and experience to total five years. Strong cell culture experience including tumor lines and primary human and/or mouse cells Prior experience working with and managing laboratory animals Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in the field of Immunology Understanding of laboratory protocols and necessary steps to ensure compliance with protocols Ability to initiate and process multiple projects simultaneously Experience with routine lab-created tasks Prior experience maintaining accurate documentation of procedures and experimental data from projects in logical and organized manner Experience reporting effectively on the progress and direction of individual projects Benefits Working at the University At the University of Minnesota, you'll find a flexible work environment and supportive colleagues who are interested in lifelong learning.
