This position seeks an applicant with excellent social skills who enjoys/already knows about and/or wishes to learn about psychological disorders assessment and treatment. It is also ideal for an individual with keen interest in a career path in neuroscience, medicine or psychiatric/psychological graduate education or positions. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Karina Quevedo. Job Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Recruiting study participants (suicide attempting youth and young adults) from various recruitment sources. Administering phone screens to potential study participants and scheduling them for study appointments and follow up. (10%) 2. Maintaining online documentation and performing clerical tasks such as printing materials, backing up digital information and checking/entering scientific data. (10%) 3. Running participants' through psychological assessment sessions that entail in person interaction for the purposes of psychiatric assessment. Specifically, obtaining depressed adolescents and their parents' consent/assent process. Determining inclusion and exclusion criteria. Administering neurobehavioral assessments using the KSADS, KSADS supplements, and Child Depression Rating Scale (CDRS). Administering Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (W ASI) and other batteries in the protocol. Explaining and helping participants with various self-report questionnaires and instruments while supporting an experimenter in charge of the psychological assessment sessions. Training will be provided for these tasks. (30%) includes: 3.1. Taking close up pictures of participants faces. 3.2. Learning to use /using a video camera and a connected cellphone to record interviews. 3.3. Administering RedCap questionnaire and computer behavioral tasks. 4. Running the fmri scanning sessions as first chair or second chair. Training will be provided for these tasks. With training by the PI and CMRR personnel this candidate is expected also to quickly master the role of 1st Chair in the CMRR to conduct scanning and real time fmri acquisitions. (30%) 5. Garnering Photoshop and Phantamorph software skills to prepare face images. Training provided, but photoshop skills are highly valued. (10%) 6. Running data analyses using programs such as SPSS or SPM12 with close supervision of Dr. Quevedo until full independency is achieved. (10%) Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications: - BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years. - Strong computer and information technology skills. Microsoft Word and Google Docs are necessary. -Ability to work various shifts including late afternoons/nights and weekends in order to recruit and meet with participants when families, adolescents and their parents are available. Preferred Qualifications: -Experience with individuals with psychological disorders and good computer technical skills to learn how to administer functional magnetic resonance (fmri) scanning to participants. Training for scanning and administration of fmri procedures or psychological/psychiatric assessment will be provided. - Good time management skills, passion for science/learning, and flexible problem solving skills are a strength that will enable success in this position.
