Experimental materials will include cell lines, animal models and patient samples. Techniques will include animal husbandry, patient derived xenografts, organoids, immune cell phenotyping, and standard molecular assays analyzing RNA, DNA and proteins using techniques including PCR, transfection/transduction, CRISPR/Cas9, Western Blots, etc. Review literature and novel technologies (10%) - Perform literature and technology reviews Disseminate findings (10%) - Write and submit manuscripts - Present findings at national and international conferences. Lab maintenance and supervision (5%) - Assist lab manager with lab maintenance and supply orders - Supervise undergraduate research assistants, graduate students, and laboratory technical personnel who will aid in performing routine experiments. Career development (5%) - Perform tasks that will enhance the candidates future career in biomedical sciences. Activities include networking and attending career development activities Qualifications Required Qualifications: - PhD in biomedical science. - Strong publication record. Multiple first and/or last author publications in journals with impact factor above 3. - Desire to work in the field of women's health and ovarian cancer - Both wet lab and computational research experience - Demonstrated bioinformatic skills, including use of R programming and large dataset analysis. About the Job, The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health is recruiting for a post doctoral fellow in the field of the ovarian cancer precision medicine initiative. The Starr lab is focused on understanding the underlying etiology of ovarian cancer and development of chemotherapy resistance in order to develop new therapeutic approaches. Therapeutic approaches being explored include adoptive cell therapy using Natural Killer cells and Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes, as well as novel combinatorial therapies based on signaling pathways disrupted in tumors.
