The position aims to support the transition from departed administrative staff support to incoming administrative staff. Work entails 14 hours or less per week as determined by CASCW's Senior Executive Director. The Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare is located in the School of Social Work in the College of Education and Human Development. The CASCW supports the education and training of child welfare professionals, identifies and examines effective child welfare practice methods, informs the public and policy makers about various child welfare issues, and incorporates evaluation findings into School of Social Work curriculum. Responsibilities include assisting the Executive Director in onboarding new administrative staff within the CASCW organization. This includes but is not limited to reviewing the administrative processes and practices of CASCW, the budgeting structure and filing system, the annual schedule of administrative support duties, and other duties as assigned. This individual will report to the Senior Executive Director in the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare. This position is fully funded by sponsored funds. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent Strong communication skills; written and verbal Proficient use of Microsoft Office software Proficient use of the Google suite Reliable Previous administrative work experience within CASCW Demonstrated commitment to advocating for an inclusive environment for all backgrounds and identities Preferred Qualifications Experience editing (copy and content) reports and other types of communications Organized Takes initiative About the Department About the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare The Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare (CASCW) was established in 1992 with federal Title IV-E funding and a grant from the Bush Foundation. The Center brings the University of Minnesota together with county, tribal, state and community social services in a partnership dedicated to improving the lives of children and families involved with public child welfare. Substantial funding for the Center continues to come from federal Title IV-E funds and support from the University of Minnesota, the College of Education and Human Development and the School of Social Work.
