Job Description
The primary focus of Re-Entry TREC Navigator is to assist in the coordination of the Transformation and Reentry through Education and Community (TREC) program efforts for Minneapolis College with an emphasis in serving our students throughout their reentry back into community. This position will collaborate with faculty coordinators to enroll TREC participants, work with prospective participants and collaborate with Department of Corrections staff for early-release participants.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Manage the enrollment process for TREC participants which includes application, advising, course placement, and registration of courses. This will require collaboration with Records and Registration staff.
Assist faculty coordinator in providing new student orientations at Minneapolis College and correctional facilities.
Provide financial aid assistance, verification, and loan processing assistance to ensure students clearly understand the status of their financial aid application and receive a timely award of campus-based grant, loan, scholarship, and student employment funds.
Provide verification to DOC of student admission and registration at Minneapolis College.
Collaborate with faculty coordinator and Housing Coordinator to confirm housing.
Salary Range:
MnSCU Academic Professional 2: $25.29 - $36.71 hourly / $52,806 - $76,650 annually.
Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education and work experience in related areas of customer service or advising students across related functions to Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, or Records/Registration.
Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft to create and or prepare a variety of documents including memos, reports, presentations, graphs.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with FAFSA processing and financial aid awarding.
Experience with diverse and underrepresented student populations.
Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally response practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Other Requirements
Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
Work Shift
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Telework
This position may be eligible for partial telework per the Minneapolis College's Telework Guidelines.
