Description JOB SUMMARY The Business Unit Manager is responsible for preparing and compiling financial projections and operating metrics for business unit reviews, identify and analyze budget and forecase variances, and provide financial support in devopment of corrective action plans to achieve business unit goals. The Business Unit Manager will create strategies to drive the effectiveness of the assigned business unit. Preparation and review of divisional annual budgets and monthly forecasts, in coordination with corporate FP&A processes and procedures Providing financial analysis of monthly results, including budget and forecast variance analysis and explanations Coordinate with accounting to ensure periodic financial results are accurate, reflecting proper accruals as may be necessary Coordinate with HR to ensure headcount reporting is accurate Provide Business Unit leadership team data and analytical support to meet financial goals Analyze and report weekly, monthly, and YTD operational metrics, unit cost measures, and key performance indicators (KPIs) as necessary for external, Corporate, and internal/Business Unit requirements Prepare and review capital spend proposals for assigned division(s) Monitor and review project activities and ensure they are brought to completion within scheduled period of time and budget Provide analytical support and leadership to division(s) on strategic initiatives, new projects, and other assignments as requested Coordinate with other teams to assure consistent processes across the Company Attend and fully participate in leadership meetings of assigned division(s) and coordinate with leaders to integrate objectives and ideas for organizational efficiencies Responsible for leading and developing staff in order to drive optimum results SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Analyst, Senior Analyst QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 5+ years' experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area; MBA preferred 2 or more years managerial experience Expert level financial modeling & reporting skills Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines Creative thinking - Possesses the ability to develop and create new ideas, systems, and relationships to drive both individual and organizational success Decision making skills - Ability to analyze information and evaluate results in order to make the best decision in solving problems Planning skills - Ability to develop specific plans and goals to help in accomplishing tasks efficiently Demonstrated ability to build a strong team spirit with an emphasis on mutual respect and cooperation Demonstrates strong leadership acumen PREFERRED SKILLS 3+ years in a leadership role within an airline Background building and maintaining financial forecast and staffing models in support of a complex business unit Microsoft Suite skills, including Excel and PPT WORK ENVIRONMENT This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
