Family and Children's Association Ombudsman in Mineola, New York
Ombudsman
The Ombudsmen will empower, Educate and Advocate for residents living in long term care and adult care facilities.
Responsibilities
Visit facilities that do not have an ombudsman assigned to it to ensure residents have access to an ombudsman.
Obtain NYS Ombudsman Certification ASAP upon hire.
Accurately complete all reports and client case notes required by the program and agency and submit them by the required deadline.
Monitor the health, safety and quality of life in assigned long term care and adult care facility.
Coordinate with the Director to identify patterns and areas of problem and concern.
Assist with and be an active participant in Ombudsman service volunteer training process.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma
Preferred
BA/BS or 2-year college degree preferred.
Six months experience working as an advocate for residents.

Schedule: Monday-Friday
Location: Garden City
Salary: $29.00/hr
