Evening Transition Coach
The Opportunity
Nassau Haven is an emergency shelter for youth ages 10 to 20 that provides short-term housing, case management and crisis intervention to runaway and homeless youth in Nassau County. We are currently seeking evening Residential Counselors.
Responsibilities
Provide informal counseling to residents and be available to residents for discussion of problems and goals.
Assist residents with their daily schedules and any transportation needs.
Make a daily inside and outside security sweep and maintain all required logs, documentation and any other required administrative tasks as required by the program.
Orient new residents to the house rules and regulations.
Assist with maintenance and cleaning of the house.
Prepare meals for residents and ensure there is adequate food and household supplies.
Qualification
HS diploma required, some college preferred.
2 years' experience working with adolescence required, residential setting preferred.
Valid NYS driver's license with a safe and responsible driving history.
Awake shift - no sleeping.
Basic computer skills.
Valid and clean New York State Driver's License

$18.65
Schedule: (M-F), evening and weekend hours, as needed
This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Exempt/nonexempt
