JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Title: Simulation Operations Specialist Position Overview: The Simulation Operations Specialist will have responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and general operations of high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, task trainers, audio-visual equipment, and computers used in the training of healthcare professionals. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Operate simulations (control manikins, monitors, A/V equipment, and provide patient vocals as needed). 2. Organize, set up, take down simulation environments, including the cleaning of equipment, when necessary. 3. Equipment Responsibilities - Assess equipment failures and address such failures in a timely fashion. - Develop sufficient technical proficiency to support operations, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and minor repair of simulation-related equipment within one year of hiring. - Interface with the equipment manufacturers regarding trouble-shooting equipment and systems problems, when necessary. - Schedule and implement necessary hardware and software equipment updates. 4. Participate in the development and administration of clinical simulation scenarios with multiple learners. 5. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Minimum of one year of related experience. Operational and interactive management of simulation center equipment. Supporting simulation logistics and set ups. Preparing, monitoring and assessing the performance of simulation equipment. Provide potential solutions and suggestions to Director, Center for Clinical Simulation. Assessment and communication of safety requirements for students/faculty related to equipment usage and maintenance. Exceptional customer service, including the ability to express technical information effectively to non-technical persons. Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking and skills. Proficient in medical terminology. Strong organizational skills be self-directed with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities daily. Basic Microsoft office computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Power Point. Self-motivated and detail oriented, able to adapt under pressure. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Certification or the ability to obtain certification (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist) within 2 years of employment preferred. Healthcare experience and simulation experience preferred.
