Commodity Specialist
WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Commodity Specialist in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.
This is a job family position (Associate Commodity Specialist, Commodity Specialist, Senior Commodity Specialist) where expereince will be the determining factor.
Job Summary
The Commodity Specialist is responsible for establishing and implementing procurement strategies for specific commodity groups, managing day-to-day business unit/department requirements, and establishing / managing contracts for specific commodities or services. Works with others in Procurement and Logistics to ensure that all requirements for materials and services are handled according to corporate and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Procurement of all materials and services within assigned commodity group(s), utilizing a variety of tools including eProcurement tools.
Establish and apply a wide range of sourcing strategies to assigned commodity groups.
Work with clients to establish priorities and manage demand
Establish and manage existing contracts with suppliers
Qualify suppliers
Track supplier performance
Prepare and lead negotiations with suppliers
Manage supplier transitions as part of contract implementation
Participate in cross-functional procurement teams
Identify and implement process improvements
Drive continuous improvement as part of contract management process
Actively seek and utilize MBE/WBE suppliers to support and achieve corporate goals
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related discipline
A minimum of 2 years of related experience and demonstrated ability to:
Perform sourcing functions and processes independently with minimal oversight from department leaders
Lead procurement projects with significant scopes and value, including cross functional team management and project management skills
Prioritize work to meet the needs of internal clients
Build effective relationships with peers, internal customers, and suppliers
Identify and capture process improvement and cost reduction opportunities
Organization and preparation skills to lead complex negotiations with suppliers
