JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Department of Medicine - Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Hospitalist Medicine Inpatient service by providing initial and ongoing assessment and management of urgent care issues related to internal medicine or critical care needs located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital. This role will be responsible for the admission of patients to the medical teams and to provide first line jeopardy coverage for medical teams if another APP is not able to cover. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct patient care to a broad range of patients and illness in an inpatient/hospital setting. In this role you will: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring medical intervention in inpatient environment as a member of the Hospital Service. Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Hospitalist services. Facilitates and communicates with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Join Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.
