JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, the General Manager is a visionary leader in the mortar and grout industry. This individual will drive business to the next level through unwavering safety standards, strong employee engagement, superb product quality, a focus on revenue growth and high customer satisfaction. This role is a unique blend of sales and hands on operations leadership.

DESCRIPTION

At Maxi-Mix, standard and specialty mortars and grouts are premixed to industry specifications at our plant and are delivered directly to customer’s job site in our turnkey silo and refilling system or as bagged product.

  • Build an engaged, high performing team through effective leadership, engagement activity and employee recognition. Create a culture that is responsive to the manufacturing environment and business needs through teamwork and personal responsibility/ ownership of the process. Performance manage, coach and develop direct reports.

  • Foster and sustain customer relationship through your own expertise in mortar & grout and chemistry. Create mixing formulae as needed.

  • Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area. Build a business network with vendors and contractors.

  • Recognize potential conflict and identify resolutions before escalation.

  • Analyze and negotiate pricing and build costing models.

  • Oversee Sales, Quality and Maintenance.

  • Support or exceed KPI performance while driving customer satisfaction.

  • Actively drive budget and forecast planning.

  • Develop quality programs, cost savings and continuous improvement programs to support long-term profitable growth.

  • Establish reporting and communication processes with cross functional teams, internal site team, customers and executive leaders.

  • Implement corporate initiatives at the site level.

  • Approve purchase orders, freight invoices and work hours.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • An industry leader who has held a similar position for 10+ years with established relationships with customers.

  • Exceptional knowledge and skills in mixing grout & mortar.

  • University BSc – Chemistry degree.

  • Highly developed leadership, change management, interpersonal, communication and people management skills to drive plant performance.

  • Leadership and manufacturing management experience in continuous improvement activities and driving results in safety, quality, sales and production.

  • Tactful and professional communication in presenting complex information and carrying out critical conversation.

  • Proven skills in the areas of sales, customer services, logistics, planning & scheduling, maintenance, management accounting, and project management

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective leadership characteristics working with all employees, support resources, sales, suppliers, customers and the local community.

  • Intermediate Level Microsoft Office – Words, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.
