Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
Perform various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment such as front end loader, belt press, centrifuge, dredger, spreader box, excavator, terragator, and road tractor.
Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to excavators, heavy equipment, backhoes, skid steers, front end loaders, dozers, forklifts, and other ancillary site equipment.
Operate specific models like 744J, 824J, and 300D vehicles.
Perform general labor duties as required.
Follow directions and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Maintain and operate smart phones for communication and operational purposes.
Essential Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to safely operate heavy or agricultural equipment.
Proficiency in basic mathematics.
Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Ability to follow directions and travel as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver's License.
Minimum 2 years of project work experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years of commercial driving/heavy or agricultural equipment experience preferred.
Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years, no DWI/DUI in the last 10 years.

Work Environment
Work will be conducted by a landfill processing bio-solids, which can be odorous. The position involves working in confined spaces and outside environmental conditions without effective protection from the weather. Exposure to fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, and poor ventilation is expected. Workers may also be subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical currents, high places, high heat, and bio-solids. This position requires travel and overtime. Physical requirements include sitting, climbing, balancing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., talking, hearing, and seeing.

This is a Contract position based out of Millville, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
