Position Overview
The Facilities Manager plays an important role in ensuring the production facility is clean, safe, and fully operational. This position involves managing all aspects of building maintenance including, but not limited to preventative maintenance, repairing production equipment, managing vendors and contractors, and recommending and implementing facility upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the facility and ensuring the facility is clean, organized, and operational
- Work with outside vendors and maintain contracts as needed (ie, landscape and snow removal)
- Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility (parking lot, conference rooms, offices, etc)
- Perform routine maintenance on facility, make or arrange for repairs as needed.
Keeping equipment and connections maintained and running, including:
- Various types of lens cutters
- Injection molds and presses
- Dryers, vacuums
- Water filtration systems
- Air filtration systems
- Pad printing presses
- Cranes
- Air compressors
- Garage doors
- Common areas (bathrooms, kitchen)
- Water softener
- Sump pumps
CNC Machine
Managing PM schedule of the plant and equipment
- Assisting Production in machine setup for various types of molds
- Working with production to retool/purpose machines and tooling
- Critical thinking and quick action to repair downed machines
- Shift communication about critical repairs and preventative maintenance
- Scheduling preventative maintenance with production team
- Hiring and coordinating external vendors and contractors for specialized tasks
- Health and safety compliance
- Managing facility upgrades and improvement projects

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience in facilities management, maintenance, or related role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Education: high school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in building systems and maintenance equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumping)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage budgets and resources efficiently
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Forklift/scissors lift certified or ability to become certified
Physical Demands: ability to lift, carry, or move heavy items, and willingness to perform physical tasks in an industrial setting.
Experience with machining, machine tooling and setup, CNC and CNC software, electrical, and milling preferred.
