Emerson General Ledger Manager in MILANO, Italy

As the General Ledger Manager for Italy , you will oversee the Financial Reporting process for Emerson Italy sites, ensuring compliance with Statutory Accounts under ITA GAAP. Additionally, you will manage Tax Compliance, including VAT, Income Tax, and other taxes, in collaboration with tax advisors, with responsibilities encompassing four legal entities and five distinct sites.

Based in either Seregno or Fiorenzuola d'Arda , this role requires your regular presence in Fiorenzuola .

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead and coordinate the General Ledger team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for five sites in Italy

  • Coordinate the filing of annual Italian statutory accounts with local authorities, adhering to Italian GAAP standards in coordination with external tax advisors

  • Ensure full tax compliance, including the management of indirect taxes (VAT, property tax, other taxes)

  • Coordinate with Emerson Shared Service for US GAAP monthly reporting in HFM, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and Emerson policies (e.g., ICQ, revenue recognition, account reconciliations)

  • Supervise three staff members, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback

  • Maintain strong relationships with management across all Italian sites

  • Complete ad hoc projects to meet Emerson's requirements and business needs such as payroll software implementation

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external auditors

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or economics

  • Extensive experience in financial, accounting, or auditing roles, with a focus on local Financial Reporting processes, including VAT, income tax and financial statements

  • Good knowledge of US GAAP and ITA GAAP Accounting

  • Knowledge of common ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Hyperion) and hands-on experience with a range of Microsoft and other strategic business applications

  • Ability to work successfully in a complex matrix organization and to interact with management

  • Proficiency in Italian and a good level of English language

  • Flexible to regularly work from our Fiorenzuola site (up to 40%)

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Qualifications in accounting, experience in auditing and/or taxes or an MBA

  • Experience in managing, developing and training employees
