Job Description
The Manager, Information Technology, Strategic Sourcing, will create and drive strategic sourcing efforts for a group of spend categories with local and regional brand impacts to secure optimal sourcing opportunities that deliver value, drive savings, increase efficiencies / level of service, assure supply and mitigate sourcing risks.
This position covers a spend of $200-$300M and will work closely with Information Technology, Telcom and IT Governance stakeholder groups. The manager will act as a strategic partner who listens to understand business team needs; provides expertise in planning and implementing sourcing initiatives; and maintain a focus on project timelines and deliverables to ensure business goals and objectives are met.
The position will use mastery of analytical skills to solve complex problems utilizing a data driven approach to decision making. The Manager, Information Technology, Strategic Sourcing, applies spend category management best practices, tools and techniques in the development and implementation of an integrated strategic sourcing strategy to assesses the overall opportunity within the categories for projects to then engage the stakeholders with facts and data.
This position is responsible for ensuring integration of the sourcing policy across the category and for managing strategic sourcing Initiatives utilizing a 7-step strategic sourcing process that includes but is not limited to a rigorous market analysis; supplier risk analysis and baseline spend analysis, to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that includes RFP execution, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and implementation and monitoring of source recommendations.
The Manager, Information Technology, Strategic Sourcing works closely with functional stakeholder management teams, across the North American and Australia (NAA) Brands, Corporate, and suppliers to ensure effective strategy development and implementation. This role requires someone with leadership experience, business savvy, and the ability to influence spend decisions.
Job Functions:
Engages and collaborates with Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) stakeholders, NAA Sourcing Group, and Corporate brands. This position will be responsible for leading the category portfolio and have significant spend oversight in range of $200-$300M in Opex/CapEx. This involves a) Developing and implementing multi-year growth plans for their categories or “business units”; b) Commercial awareness and continuously managing trends and gaps in the market that impact their category and in turn the companies supply chain; and c) Managing suppliers to ensure flow of products/services to company is
They lead, develop, and implement an integrated strategic process across their assigned category or categories. This role will work with CCL stakeholders, All Brand Group (ABG) and sister brands to identify strategic sourcing opportunities that effectively leverage our size and scale to deliver a competitive economic advantage while maintaining or improving quality and service levels. As needed, this role will develop a deep spend analysis by commodity, vendor and/or SKU to develop opportunities including an overall sourcing strategy
Manages Strategic Sourcing Initiatives utilizing a 7-step strategic sourcing process (including but not limited to a market analysis, supplier risk analysis, baseline spend analysis, RFP execution, formal negotiation strategy and plan, contracting and implementation and monitoring of source recommendation). They negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts on behalf of Carnival engaging with suppliers at the COO and CEO level
Manages contracts and key supplier relationships
Delivers Results to Performance Goals and Measurement including but not limited to hard savings, cost avoidance, supplier diversity and sustainability
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, finance, business or other applicable. Master’s degree a plus.
Certifications: CPSM or CPM preferred but not required
5+ years’ experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives utilizing best practices category management methodology (“six- “or “seven-step process”) with expertise in influencing business strategy and supplier relations
Demonstrated analytical skill set including financial cost analysis, should cost and total cost of ownership, working knowledge of eRFX tools. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience with software, hardware, technology architecture, telecom/satellite and maintenance services. Experience leading hardware, software, professional/managed services, telecom, cloud services strategic sourcing initiatives utilizing best practices category management methodology (“six- “or “seven-step process”) with expertise in influencing business strategy and supplier relations.

Uses quality management skills to ensure all procedures and work activities conform to work specifications and standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
