Carnival Cruise Line Sr. Contract Management Specialist -IT in Miami, Florida

The Senior Specialist, Contract Management (IT) will oversee the entire contract lifecycle for hardware, software, and managed services agreements negotiated exclusively by Carnival Corporation’s North America Supply Chain team. This includes drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing IT contracts. The Senior Specialist will ensure all IT contracts adhere to business requirements, legal policies, and workflows. They will collaborate externally with Vendors and internally with various departments (including the legal department) to obtain required feedback and approvals and promptly escalate any issues.

Job Functions:

  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Working closely with external suppliers and internal stakeholders such as legal, compliance, tax, risk, data privacy, and supply chain managers, to ensure contract terms align with business objectives and compliance requirements.

  • Contract Lifecycle Management : Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to renewal or termination, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This includes drafting, reviewing, negotiating, executing and manage reporting through termination.

  • Risk Management : Identifying and mitigating risks associated with contracts, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Reporting and Analysis : Preparing and presenting reports on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance issues to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Law, Commerce, Supply Chain Management

  • 5+ years in managing corporate IT contracting (entire life cycle). Experience utilizing a CMS tool (Ironclad, Coupa, or the like) from drafting, redline review, approvals and beyond.

  • Knowledge of legal requirements and standard contractual provisions involved with corporate contract law and terms of use.

  • Aggressive “go getter”, driven, capable of working with little supervision.

  • Ability to influence others and interact with all levels of the organization – can interface independently and effectively with peers in other departments / brands with an emphasis on being results oriented.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; strong planning/project management skills.

  • Uses quality management skills to ensure all procedures and work activities conform to work specifications and standards.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize changing workload requests to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.

  • Microsoft 365 Suite

  • CMS tool such as Ariba, Coupa, IronClad.

  • CPSM certification a plus but not required

  • Corporate contract management experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Effective Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple contract review and negotiation efforts concurrently without being overwhelmed

  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail to ensure all contracts are compliant and error-free.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex information and negotiate with finesse.

  • Project Management Skills: Strong planning and project management skills to handle multiple contracts and meet stringent deadlines.

  • Legal Knowledge: Solid understanding of corporate contract law, terms and conditions, and the ability to interpret and apply legal principles to various contractual scenarios.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven ability to identify risks, opportunities, and loopholes within contracts and provide solutions.

  • Collaboration : Proven ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including supply chain, risk / data privacy, tax, legal, and compliance team.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Weekend and Holiday shifts are required.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
