Carnival Cruise Line Learning & Development Business Analyst in Miami, Florida
The Business Analyst – Learning & Development plays a critical role in measuring training effectiveness, tracking compliance, and providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. This role will design and develop dashboards, generate reports, and analyze training impact, ensuring that L&D initiatives align with business goals.
Essential Functions:
Data Analysis & Reporting: Understand information needs for various L&D stakeholders and translate into meaningful metrics. Gather, organize, and query training data from multiple sources to measure learning effectiveness and business impact. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for key stakeholders, leveraging tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Excel. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on training participation, completion rates, and compliance metrics. Monitor L&D KPIs and generate periodic insights on training return on investment (ROI). Compile periodic performance / operational reports and presentations, including but not limited to HESS reports, corporate reports, quarterly management reviews and the annual training report.
Dashboard & Insights Development: Design and maintain training and compliance dashboards to ensure leadership and stakeholders have real-time access to key L&D metrics. Leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to create user-friendly and interactive dashboards. Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in learning programs.
Training Compliance & Regulatory Tracking: Monitor training completion /compliance as needed, across several training courses. Monitor regulatory and company training requirements, flagging gaps and non-compliance risks. Collaborate with stakeholders and COE to align L&D reporting with regulatory standards. Enable training compliance monitoring through training governance mechanisms and activate appropriate stakeholders, ship and shore, as needed to mitigate risk.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with L&D leadership to define data-driven success metrics/ KPIs for training initiatives. Support training governance activities, including training rationalization exercises and process improvements. Partner with COE and stakeholders to solicit and collect feedback, propose enhancements to refine and continuously improve. Support internal teams by providing analytical expertise and training on dashboard usage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business Analytics, Data Science, Learning & Development, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
Master’s degree (preferred but not required) in Data Analytics, HR Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Learning Technologies.
3-5 years of experience in business analysis, HR analytics, learning & development analytics, or a related field.
Experience working with LMS platforms (LMS365 preferred) and HRIS systems (Oracle HRIS preferred).
Experience developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau.
Background in measuring training effectiveness, compliance tracking, and ROI analysis.
Experience working with data warehouses (Snowflake, AWS, Oracle) for reporting and insights.
Previous experience in a corporate L&D, HR, or training compliance role is a plus.
Experience in the cruise, hospitality, or maritime industry is a bonus but not required.
Data Analytics & Reporting Tools: Power BI – Dashboard development, data visualization, and reporting. Tableau – Designing interactive dashboards and reports. Excel (Advanced) – Data manipulation, pivot tables, Power Query, and statistical analysis. SQL – Querying databases for training metrics and compliance tracking.
Learning & HR Systems: LMS365 – Extracting and analyzing training data. Oracle HRIS – HR data management and reporting. MS Forms, Qualtrics & Medallia – Survey data collection and analysis for training feedback.
Database & Cloud Platforms: Snowflake, AWS, or Oracle – Data warehousing and business intelligence reporting.
Other Skills: Data Visualization & Storytelling – Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders. ETL Processes – Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) for handling training data. Automation Tools – Power Automate or similar tools for streamlining reporting.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. May need to stand for long periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 84 hours/year. All employees gain additional vacation time with further tenure.
