Position Summary:
With independent judgment and discretion, prepare electronic files for reproduction, file management and digital output using various software applications; support internal and external customer items related to the formatting and publishing of technical documentation; support change management system and be responsible to provide appropriate feedback to internal customers in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Research and revise technical documentation while ensuring adherence to schedule.
• Identifies and implements process and product improvements for technical documents in line with the strategic plan.
• Responsible for review, format and registration of our documentation.
• Trains and supports our personnel on documentation systems and software tools.
• Prepares, maintains, and implements procedures and instructions pertinent to configuration management.
• Coordinates the quality assurance of drawings and documents, which may include the use of graphic programs for esthetic enhancement.
• Interacts with Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Marketing, and Business Development regarding documentation.
• Interacts with Contract Administrators and Compliance Specialists to support data exchange between 3rd parties.
• Ensures document legibility, sustainability, and accessibility to guarantee long term archival and retrieval (LOTAR).
• Manages the change process to minimize cycle times.
Change Implementer Primary Responsibilities
• Assist in the implementation phase of the closed loop change process.
• Assigns change notification numbers and maintains applicable logs.
• Prioritizes the implementation review and assures that the response is timely.
• Assigns responsibility for implementation planning and forwards change notices accordingly.
• Verifies changes have been incorporated and all subsequent activities have been completed per the implementation plan.
• Manages the change process to minimize cycle times.
Required Experience & Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Microsoft Office software (spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database), Email and Internet clients, Operating Systems and electronic File Management (MS Windows).
• High School Diploma or GED. College degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years proven success in role with similar scope of duties and responsibilities.
• Proficient with MS Suite, to include Excel, Word, PPT, and Project.
• Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Configuration Management and AS9100.
• Ability to observe technical operations with comprehension and generate detailed work instructions.
• Excellent technical and grammatical writing skills.
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations.
