The Banner Baywood Neuro Progressive Care Unit is nationally certified as a Primary Stroke Unit by the Joint Commission. Our team is highly skilled in caring for patients suffering from strokes and related illnesses. Our RN managers are trained stroke responders who respond to stroke alerts throughout the campus. Our program is led by a physician medical director and a nurse coordinator along with a multidisciplinary team who are all instrumental in providing exceptional care to our patients and a collaborative environment for our RNs.
As an RN Operations Support Specialist for Neuro PCU, you will bring your experience and passion for health care to a three-wing, 74-bed unit that provides acute care for all stroke and neuro patients as well as cardiac, medical, and post-surgical patients. You will have the opportunity to assist new hires with their education onboarding, education roll outs for the unit/ camps, help RNs on the unit with improving their skills, and assisting with audits. This RN Operations Support Specialist is a full-time day shift Monday-Friday 5–8-hour shifts or 4–10-hour shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting nurse leadership in the planning, development and execution of facility education for clinicians, supporting the on-boarding and orientation of newly hired registered nurses, career development and effective internal clinical communications. This role performs under the guidance and direction of the chief nursing officer or designee and serves as a liaison between all disciplines by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving. This position proactively supports the quality and continuity of services throughout the healthcare systems and assists in resolution of systems issues and enforces facility/unit/department policy/procedures and standards of care. This position coordinates oversight of quality, risk management, safety and nursing standards and is a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and maintaining clinical competency within the facility/unit/department; collaborates with Clinical Education to coordinate and support the on-boarding and precepting of newly hired nurses (this includes supporting programs and communication within the facility); develops and coordinates system and facility initiatives to promote clinical career development and lateral nurse pathways and may lead and implement facility clinical initiatives. This position contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, safe care; and actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, such activities may include participating in professional organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a Associates degree.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Requires a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant experience. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree is nursing preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
