Robert Half Assistant Controller in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

We are offering an engaging role for an Assistant Controller based in Memphis, Tennessee. This role involves maintaining the accuracy and completeness of accounting records and assisting with accounting and financial processes. The Assistant Controller will work closely with other fiscal areas, helping to review and revise financial policies and procedures, and identify process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with accounting and financial processes, including timely account reconciliation and preparation of quarterly/year-end financial statements

• Perform and oversee complex general ledger transactions and reconciliations, ensuring all adjustments are recorded within prescribed deadlines

• Ensure proper and consistent financial accounting methodology, techniques, and procedures are in use

• Assist with treasury functions as needed, and interface with other fiscal areas

• Work closely with the Controller, CFO, and Administration to perform tasks that realize institutional goals and help generate various revenue streams

• Help review and revise the financial policies and procedures

• Identify process improvements and best practices

• Build strong relationships with various departments to ensure they are provided with the tools to make sound financial decisions and recognize trends quickly, ensuring departments stay within budget

• Perform daily cash management functions

Requirements • Proven experience in an Assistant Controller role or similar financial management position

• Proficiency in Great Plains (GPAC) software

• Familiarity with auditing processes and procedures

• Knowledge of budget processes including planning, tracking, and reporting

• Experience with foundation grants and their management

• Ability to manage daily cash flow and prepare cash flow statements

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret financial data

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• CPA or relevant certification would be considered a plus

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to strategize and solve problems promptly

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Strong understanding of business principles and practices

• Superior attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking abilities.
