Ademco Inc. Sr Hardware Engineer in Melville, New York

JOB DESCRIPTION

Use your advanced knowledge of the hardware engineering discipline, processes and tools to help Resideo deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Resideo's next generation of products by designing, testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead the feasibility study and HW architecture design according to the Marketing requirement, including HW system solution, Antenna solution, Mechanical assembly, Risk identification, Risk mitigation plan, HW development schedule.
  • Be responsible for HW schematic design, Review and approve PCB Layout, and BOM release. Drive and follow the release process of HW design, including DFM and DFT.
  • Work with FW team to drive the PCB board. Finish the HW engineering Verification and debug the HW issues.
  • Support quality insurance team for quality control.
  • Support UL/ETL/FCC/IC/PTCRB/CE Agency submittal and solve HW-related issues.
  • Support production in the factory.
  • Work with Sourcing and CE team for cost and lead time control.
  • Support marketing team on field issue analysis.
  • Support CE/VE team for components qualification.

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years working experience in HW design
  • Proficient with MPU/MCU-based HW development, and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.
  • Proficient with at least one of the popular EDA tools (Mentor/Cadence/Altium etc.)
  • Good EMC/EMI design skills, familiar with leading industrial standard and regulation. (UL/ETL/FCC/IC/PTCRB/CE etc.)
  • Experience with board bring-up and systems debugging tools such as bus analyzers, oscilloscopes, power analyzer, data logger, spectrum analyzers, etc
  • Be capable of soldering.

WE VALUE:
  • Familiar with new product development process. successful MP experience is preferred.
  • Experience in RF and antenna design and proficient in Network analyzer and Smith chart are nice to have
  • Experience in ODM management is a plus.
  • Experience with DFM/DFT is a plus
  • Have enthusiasm and good motivation on the routine job, more likely to learn new things.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
SALARY RANGE:

In compliance with applicable laws, Resideo provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be performed in NYC, Colorado, Washington, and California. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, the specific office location, and pay differences based on the local labor market. The expected base salary range for this role is $115, 012 - $200, 089.
