Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer - RF Sensors Electronics Support Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems IPT is in charge of designing, developing, integrating, and testing RF sensors onto and into these airborne platforms.

This role is for a Responsible Engineer with a focus on subsystem requirements and architecture.

The Responsible Engineer in this role will report to an EW Lead within the RF Sensors & Effects sub-IPT within the Mission Systems IPT.

Essential Functions:

  • Focused on model-based systems engineering using Cameo and performing analytical work.

  • Working within Cameo, DOORs, Rhapsody, writing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels (from Systems Requirement Document down to Weapon System Specification down to Segment Specifications down to Subsystem Specifications).

  • Working with electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands).

  • Working with sensor providers/suppliers.

  • Position is in a small team with a diverse and significant set of requirements.

Candidate should have an Electronic Warfare subsystem background or a strong RF design background to define, specify, trace, and model requirements for the next generation of EW sensors.

Basic Qualifications:

Sr. Principal Engineer - RF Sensors Electronic Support Analyst (T04)

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years)

  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)

  • Ability to travel 0-25%

  • Experience with Electronics Warfare subsystem OR Experience with RF design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience with Cameo, DOORs, Rhapsody, writing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels.

  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)

  • Knowledge of DoDAF and system scenarios

Salary Range: $114,900 - $172,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
