Health First Private Duty Clinical Operations Manager in Melbourne, Florida
To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience and Stewardship by Planning, implementing operational and customer service areas to assure quality care and appropriate quality of services. Establish policies and regulations for all field personnel and ensures compliance. Assists in business development of self-pay market opportunities as well as medical staffing business as primary service lines. Clinical Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for all patient-related decisions in the branch and abides by all legal, financial, ethical and moral standards. Supervises, trains, evaluates and reviews documentation of clinical staff.
Primary Accountabilities
Develops a harmonious and satisfied field staff through mentoring, providing orientation as appropriate, as well as educational and experiential growth opportunities.
Promote Gallup philosophy and opportunities for improvement.
Oversee timely completion of all field staff employee evaluations.
Develops engagement through adherence to the I-CARE commitments.
Evaluates patient care needs and ensures appropriate staff knowledge to achieve optimal patient care outcomes through coordination of patient care services.
Provide orientation and competencies as identified by staff areas of weakness.
Oversees safety and security of environments for patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers. Recognizes unsafe conditions and suggests remedies.
Responsible for overseeing that tracking of physician orders are signed and returned in accordance with state regulations.
Conducts timely and periodic performance appraisals based on pre-established standards and opportunities for learning and growing.
Enter all patient or staffing order information in current information system to maintain patient master files in accordance with standard operating procedures and survey standards.
Plan, establish and implement all patient care services and policies for the branch according to rules/regulations regarding provisions of Home Health Services, Health First Staffing Services and Home Companion business in conjunction with the Administrator/Director.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of all current state requirements for licensure laws and regulations.
Responsible for Quality Assurance program and goal implementation as it relates to patient care to improve quality of care and clinical operations for process improvement.
Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational meetings, reading, community relations and personal networks.
Develops clinical department objectives in accordance with measurable goals in areas of quality improvement with monthly reporting.
Responsible for ensuring all scheduled and open shifts are covered with appropriate staff. Work with scheduler to optimize scheduling of patients.
Take on-call on a rotating basis as requested for scheduling functions as needed.
Contributes to effective guest relations by assisting patients, visitors, employees and physicians to resolve expressed concerns, and by demonstrating a welcoming and helpful attitude.
Set or adopt policies for, and keep records for admission to service, case assignments, and case management.
Responsible for knowing the features and benefits of the Private Duty Business, Health First Staffing Services and Home Companion business which differentiates us from our competition.
Assist with marketing activities as directed, both internal and external.
Conducts and documents disciplinary conferences for individuals not following policy/procedures or whose actions necessitates corrective action.
Oversee supervisory visits, tracking and related documentation, as well as patient quality control calls.
Provide positive representation for administration in all circumstances and settings.
Participate in in organizational task forces and committees as an active participant as requested.
Achieves work objectives, avoids losses and maximizes opportunities by gathering pertinent data, identifying and evaluating options, and choosing a cost effective course of action.
Responsible for orchestrating all in-home assessments and related start of care documentation and collection of deposits from patient or designee.
Oversee that all financial data for billing purposes is collected prior to the start of care, as well as deposits on the account and collection activity issues.
Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, working with director to bring them forward to strategic planning and business development.
Bring in new referrals for OWD by cross-selling services.
Monitor and report on competitive industry environment regularly.
Participate in state-wide private duty organizations stay current on programmatic trends and opportunities.
Other duties as assigned such as covering on-call on a rotating basis if needed, answering clinical questions after hours or on weekends, working an uncovered shift in an emergency.
Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing, BSN required. A minimum of two years home health experience, with a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Successful level II background check (fingerprinting)
- Computer skills a must
- Demonstrates good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle as evidenced by driving record for 3 years prior to employment.
- Oversee the development of policies and procedures regarding patient care.
- Strong organizational skills, including time management and problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and non. Ability to perform presentations in various settings.
- Former sales and marketing experience a preferred.
