We are hiring for a Senior Engineer to join our team and contribute to multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Mechanicsburg, PA.  This person will have the opportunity to lead a variety of public and private site development projects as well as working with various municipal clients across various markets!

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Manage multiple projects and tasks; this includes monitoring schedules & budgets to ensure effective completion of projects accordingly.
  • Meet regularly with clients.
  • Prepare proposals for new & existing clients (including estimation of project fees).
  • Oversee the development of Land Development Plans; this includes the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from schematic design through construction).
  • Coordinate the preparation of applications (State & Federal) for permitting and grant funding.
  • Attend meetings (project and public) and participate in planning/zoning board meetings.
  • Prepare proposals and oversee marketing to clients (new & existing).
  • Review planning studies, development applications, etc.
  • Supervise staff (including Design Engineers); this involves providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

     

     

Basic Requirements:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • 10+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with design projects.
  • PE in PA.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

 

  • Management and/or Project Management experience is strongly preferred; a proven track record in effective staff management / leadership is a plus!
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Engineering principles and best practices; advanced expertise in site/civil development is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of land-use planning.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, especially while overseeing scheduling, budgeting, and client relations.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with clients and external partners / contractors.
  • Experience working with stormwater management [SWM], especially while utilizing relevant software / modeling tools (i.e.:  H&H tools), is a plus!
  • Proficiency with engineering / CADD tools; expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Proficiency with standard office & project management software applications:  Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.; experience working with Bluebeam Revu is a plus!
  • Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
